Club Facilities Development
Wattstown RFC has continued to invest in its facilities over many years to support players, volunteers and the wider community. Improvements have focused on
creating a safe, welcoming and sustainable environment for rugby and local activities.
Ongoing Commitment to Improvement
Since 2015 the club has delivered a wide range of developments including clubhouse upgrades, improvements to outdoor spaces, better equipment
provision and enhanced viewing areas for families and supporters. These projects have been achieved through a combination of club fundraising,
volunteer effort, sponsor support and external grants.
Key achievements
• Clubhouse improvements including extensions, kitchen upgrades, toilet and lounge refurbishments
• Development of outdoor social areas such as the beer garden
• Decoration and upgrading of changing room facilities
• Installation of a scrummage machine and additional playing equipment
• New scoreboard, sponsor boards and improved storage facilities
• Parents viewing cabin to improve matchday experience
• Floodlight repairs to support safer training environments
• Full changing room upgrade delivered through partnership with the local authority
These improvements have strengthened the club’s ability to host fixtures, support junior and senior rugby and provide a welcoming space for the community.
Current and Future Priorities
The club continues to focus on further facility development. Funding has recently been secured to improve refreshment and hospitality cabins, including roof replacements. Work is due to begin shortly.
A major ongoing priority is the enhancement of pitch floodlighting. This will improve safety during evening training sessions and help the club move towards hosting more matches and community activity outside daylight hours. The club continues to work with partners and funders to secure the investment required for this project.
Community Impact
Facility improvements are about more than sport. They help Wattstown RFC remain a hub for local pride, participation and wellbeing. By investing in its infrastructure, the club is ensuring it can continue to serve future generations of players, supporters and residents.

Mini's & Juniors are Back
There’s been a real buzz around the return of Minis and Juniors at Wattstown RFC, with plenty of conversations, interest, and support from the community. We’ve listened, taken it on board, and have been working hard behind the scenes to bring it all together properly. Now, we’re proud to say it’s happening. Our first taster session is just the start, giving young players the chance to get involved, have fun, and be part of something being rebuilt with real energy and purpose. This is about more than rugby, it’s about creating opportunities, building confidence, and bringing the community back together through the next generation.
